Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand

Amazing undisturbed scenery in this province. Prachuap province is a fishing port with a superb location; you're either looking at its beautiful curving bays or ahead at its steep mountain outcrops. I visited two of its cities, the very popular Hua Hin and the peaceful Thap Sakae beach.

The resort that I stayed in in Thap Sakae was the most peaceful I've experienced Thailand to date. There was not a single person on the beach for most of the time I was there (two nights). There were some rowdy young Thai guys the second night but nothing out of the ordinary. The resort was steps away from the beach (honestly, I could hear the waves rippling from my bed).

View from my porch
 So many incredible flowers
Little boy swinging on the beach
 Eating with other tourists
Where I sat and ate dinner/breakfast
Note how there is NOBODY on the beach. Yeah, it was like that everyday.

My house for two nights (I know right!)
 Mango lunch overload

Mister buffalo (the owners insisted I take a closer shot but huge animals make me nervous)

The second day I went Wat Tang Sai and it was probably one of the nicest temples I have ever seen. A large (more like EXTRA large) golden Buddha image dedicated to the Queen of Thailand is visible from some distance and is located about 500 meters below Wat Tang Sai. The walk up to the magnificent 9 pagoda Wat is along a steep path (I was sweatin') affording great views across the Gulf of Thailand, inland to the Thailand/Myanmar border and below the picturesque fishing harbour at Thong Chai. (You aren't allowed to take many photos inside the actual temple)

tough climb in the beating heat - way worth it (I had already climbed half way before I snapped this shot)
 Guardians
I made it! (buckets of sweat)
 View from the rooftop
There was some amazing stain glass in the temple

 this guy was huuuuge.

The next day on my way to Bangkok, I stopped in Hua Hin. I didn't really spend long there as popular tourist attraction cities have ceased to interest me. Nonetheless, the town was very well established and I visited Plernwan Eco Village Market. Plearnwan is decorative market made to resemble a village that your parents (if they were Thai) would have grown up in. All appliances (methods of cooking, electronics etc) are vintage style. Plearnwan also had vintage looking restaurants, coffee shops, clothing shops, candy shops etc. Along with some old time radio, film and camera shops..

SuperSampler was nice to me. 4 shots of Plearnwan market.

 gimme that old time feel.
Oh ya, I totally remember listening to these hits...
 Everyone loves Ms. Hepburn

Ferris wheel workers hard at work.
I'm such a sucker for these Thai acoustic bands.
I rode my bicycle through your window last night.

 Street Market in Hua Hin.

I would like these hanging lamps in my home, please!
